Pitcher

Here is the WIP of my next work. Size is 9" x 12". I considered this picture to mainly try out my hand on the background. So far I am happy about the background. Next work is to add details with color pencils. I thank the photographer, who gave me premission to use this picture on the Flickr.

Serenity

This is my latest art work again using Neocolor II and Color pencils on Pastelbord. Even though I did goof up with the background initially, I happened to continue it. I am happy with the work except for the background. As this is my first work which has such a background, I am confident that I will overcome such background problems in my future works. This is of 11" x 14" size. Will be starting with my next work soon.

Dahlia Flower - Finished

Here is the finished picture of the dahlia flower. I am happy with the way the flower turned, though not much satisfied with the leaves. Have to learn a lot before I proceed on to the next one. Greens turn to be a problem in all mediums whether it comes to color pencils or neocolors. Working on warm colors tend to be easier compared to cool colors.

Dahlia flower

Here is a Dahlia flower that I am working on right now. It will take another few days for me to complete it. This is done using Neocolors and Color pencils on Ampersand pastelbord. Size is 8" x 10". First I gave a wash of Neocolors. Neocolors are watersoluble crayons. Here is a link to see how they look. http://www.dickblick.com/products/caran-dache-neocolor-ii-artists-crayons/
First given a wash of neocolors with a bristle brush, it takes about 20 minutes to dry. Once dry I start giving the details with the color pencils on it and finally run the wet bristle brush to blend them both . Color pencils and neocolors work excellent together. Will complete the work and post the final picture soon.

Thanks for having a look at it

Graphite Portrait

This is my latest pencil portrait of my friend's kids. This was done on Strathmore smooth bristol and of 14" x 17" size. Used 4b for the hair and 2b, H pencils for the shading. I am really happy about how it turned out. I worked on it for almost two weeks.

My Artworks

Here you can find all my art works which includes graphite and color pencil ones. Planning to explore mixed media in future. I started with graphite sketches, and was reluctant to explore color pencils. But somehow made up my mind and tried few with color pencils. I will post all my future works here. Feel free to comment on my works.
